Water Based Coatings - Barrier
Water Based Coatings - Barrier
Hydro-coat® Barrier Coatings are water-based varnishes that have been developed to provide a substrate. These coatings can be used for a vast range of applications, both for coating and uncoating paper, providing printers, paper industry and packaging converters a more efficient, cost-effective and sustainable replacement for the PE Layer.
Plastic waste is one of the major environmental threats we face, that’s why through a water-based barrier coating we are eliminating PE Layers on the packaging making them sustainable and completely recyclable.

HYDRO-COAT 285 / FRONT | Gloss water-based varnish. Suitable for front and back coating. Good rub resistance and slip angle. Compliance with FDA regulations for direct contact with food. |
Offset press dampening fountain, with or without alcohol; in-line tower; coater. |
HYDRO-COAT 4010 B / BACK | IMPREFIX-4010B L1 is a pore-sealing coating exclusively used as primer together with IMPREFIX-4030B L2. This product is recommendable for porous paper or relatively high roughness. | Coater, Anilox, etc. Its performance depends largely on dry film thickness. Rotogravure application works better. |
HYDRO-COAT 4020 B / BACK | IMPREFIX-4020B is a heat-sealable and waterproof coating that replaces products originally designed by the extrusion and lamination of polyethylene and polypropylene on substrates for paper cups, boxes and other food packaging. | Coater, Anilox, etc. Its performance depends largely on dry film thickness. Rotogravure application works better. |
